Totally forgot about this! JOKES!

Nah as usual, every time I sat down to write one of these something’s come up. Either the cats jumped up on my lap or screamed at me for attention, something cool’s come up on TV, my sis is dragging me out somewhere or a friends been over… anyway enough defending myself

So it finally happened! I got to see my favourite movie on the silver screen. Only been longing for that ever since 1997 but hey its happened!

I ended up going to see it with my sis as always, but we took our little brother with us. He knows about the movie because of my obsession with it. He’d never seen it but had been around a few times when I’d put the video and DVD on. He was surprisingly keen for a 12yo boy to see it – kids these days are into the most strange out of it shit I’ll tell you.

So yea thought it would be good to show it to the next generation, plus it beats him sitting at home watching youtube and playing xbox and play station all night.

Was so thrilling watching it start, sort of surreal – as if we’d hired out that cinema just to play the movie. Seemed odd not being on my couch on laid out on the floor with blankets like I always was watching it at home. I was even quite jealous to see soo many young people there – all seeing it for the first time I guess as well, many probably never seen it at all apart from small clips here and there on the internet.

Cameron wasn’t lying, the quality has incredibly improved. Even with the 3D effect tazering your eyes – you can clearly see how they’ve cleaned up the special effects. It’s really was like a new experience in terms of that. Plus I’m not sure if it was just the fact I was sitting in a enclosed space with huge speakers but I heard so much more in the background than I had at home.

Ya know, when the camera starts to pan away from whoever you were just looking at even though they’re still talking… and as the camera moves their voices fade but you can still hear what they’re saying – THAT is so much clearer! Maybe my hearing is just totally shot, but kinda makes sense, no people, alarms, cars, lawn mowers, dishwashers, animals or sirens going off around you as the world turns. It was probably just the quiet dark room but damn I was sure the audio was cleaned up as well, I heard lines I’d never heard it before! Fucking shocked me! Was so cool.

I’m planning to go again with my best mate. I’ve seen it twice so far, but next Wed, at 7:45pm is the last ever screening of it. I went to the last ever screening of Scream 4 and it was pretty cool. Quite a few people had gone – obviously all knowing it was the last one & it was pretty packed. You could tell many were huge fans too. Can’t wait for this Wed. Probably be the very last time ever on the big screen. We’ll go out for drinks afterwards too, aww can’t wait! Wed will be such a good night! Can’t wait to buy it on Bluray as well!

Just wanted to mention the comments for this blog. I’ve noticed that there are a very small group of you who do leave comments – which is fucken GREAT! . Love feedback and messages from you guys. But noticed in a few of my last ones that you guys think I never reply, in fact even saying it in the comments. Was a little frustrating considering the trouble I go through trying to separate all the spam comments from actually people.

Have any of you gone back to previous blogs and looked down at the comments? You will see that I actually DO reply. I know I don’t reply straight away, but I do eventually. I usually just wait till they build up for a while, then do them all at once, just pump out replies till I’m all replied out hahaha.

But I’ll tell you, I get thousands of spam comments every month, I don’t think I’ll ever catch up with them – last time I checked I have 8,000 unchecked comments . It’s so hard to get rid of them all. Sometimes I accidentally delete comments from you guys & I’m sorry, but put yourselves in my shoes. I don’t have time to sit here all night deleting and blocking all that spam shit that comes through – I have a hard enough time trying to post here on a regular basis!

Plus it’s no big deal I reckon, I mostly get messaged directly from you guys on all the websites I’m on. I find it easier that way, plus most of you are too shy or just not bothered to comment here so it’s all good But just letting you guys know that I do reply to all your comments, just go back and look for yourself

That Entertainment Weekly magazine finally fucken came!!! I checked the magazine place almost daily, and the guys working in there must have thought what the hell is this weirdo doing coming in and walking out everyday HA!. I almost jumped in the air when I saw the shiny new edition of the EW mag I’d been searching for! YAY! The DH article wasn’t as huge as I expected but it was still reasonable. I read like once page a week, was soo scared to just sit and read it all in one sitting. I wanted to make it last. Was very interesting and I even learned a few new things about the show. Fuck I’m going to miss it

This Sunday is the last episode before the 2 hour Season finale. It hasn’t really sunk in to be honest – probably because I’m so busy with work, and when I’m not working I’m trying to catch up on sleep or trying to have fun either moviewise, foodwise or sexwise

If this had ended while I was in uni, it would have more effect because I had a lot more time to myself. But don’t get me wrong I’m still pumped as fuck for the ending, feeling this huge wave of excitement and sadness building inside me.

You know I actually planned to make a ‘big’ night of it. I was going to make this big nest of blankets and cushions on the floor or couch with lots of yummy food & drinks and stay up super late and download the episode in High definition and watch it on the TV – and even take the day off work the next day. But I just got news from my big boss that I have to go into the office at 7am on the 14^th to help with some new program that being launched for our company. So that kinda throws that plan out the window. Maybe I’ll just leave it till the next night

I also got the latest National Geographic edition – because it has Titanic on the cover – why else?

Looks really interesting, and this article looks huge so will have lots of fun reading all about it. It’s got all the latest pics of the shipwreck – most never seen before and even has this awesome little mini poster in the middle of a diagram the sinking. So awesome! I love when magazines feature things I love, makes me think that my obsessions are shared by other people as well & I’m not some crazed freak hahaha.

I am still going to Fiji, I’ve had a few guys ask me if that’s actually happening. It IS!

It’s my own fault though, haven’t really mentioned it in my other blogs, so would’ve been easy to forget. I can tell you it’s all officially paid off. I decided to book 2 day trips – one out to Treasure Island, and the other to Castaway Island.

Treasure Island is pretty tiny with nothing but one resort on it. I figured it would be awesome to just be on an island that you can walk around in a single day, hell even under an hour – it’s pretty tiny! Be awesome to just lax on the beach, go for a swim and whatever. Apart from the size, the other main factor was the turtles, my sis is a huge fan of them and a lot of turtles do lay their eggs in the sands of Treasure Island and apparently there’s a little turtle breeding sanctuary there – but not certain, think I read that somewhere. But even then, who knows whether it’ll be that time of year when they lay the eggs or the babies hatch when we go. Would be awesome to get there and get to see some baby turtles. When a workmate of mine went last month – she did that day trip to Beach Comber island and they had baby turtles there so I got fingers crossed for us!

I don’t really know much about Castaway Island. But people at work practically forced me to book it – they all said it was a great place and said that it’s not as boring as Treasure Island. I’m not very adventurous so I reckon I’ll probably just end up doing the same boring shit as I did on Treasure Island. Our booking includes lunch at the restaurant there so that’ll be cool . Pretty sure there’s just one resort on there too.

Honestly I’m just going to chill out. I mean completely LAX out. I just wanna lay in the sand and get a tan – something I can’t do anymore especially with my full time job {plus its practically winter here already}, muck round in the ocean, play in the pool and pig out at the restaurants and sleep. I would LOVE to add sex with hot men into that equation – but let’s face facts, on a tiny island like that there won’t be any chance of that happening. I’ve already had a ’squiz’ on the dating sites at the Fiji sections – there’s even less to choose from than Auckland. And all the hotties that are there – are nowhere near the resort I’m staying at, so I’m just not gonna bother – like I did when I went to the Gold Coast last year. But if you do know any hot gay men living there, feel free to let me know

We fly out on the 25^th, which is still a fair way off to me. Almost 3 weeks, still a fair bit of work to get through before then. Have saved $500 so far which I think is enough – especially for a country with money worth less than ours {so I’ll get more then I exchange it}. Have 2 more pays before then, so prob have 600 or 650. Surely that’s enough for 5 nights in Fiji? I mean we’ll only spend it on food…. not really a destination you go to shop. I’ll have a credit card on me anyway if the shit hits the fan. Plus my sis will hopefully have some money to play with.

Anyway that’s probably the most uneventful/boring blog I’ve done in a while but I wanna get something up and this is all I can carve off the top of my brain right now. I’ll try write something more worth reading about next time. Part 2 of my internet themed blog is still in the works. Also planning to make another aussieBum purchase before I fly out so will deff fill you guys in on what I get

You’d think it would be easy to just write one of these things up & post but, doesn’t turn out that way.

OK, so what’s been happening lately, not a hell of a lot to be honest. Went to Evanescence’s concert last weekend which was… cool. I love Amy, her music is great, but to be honest I’m not the type of person to go to a rock concert. And although her songs are not that hardcore/heavy metal, at the end of the day when her band plays up on stage its basically like a rock band & they usually drown Amy’s beautiful voice out by the thumping of the drums/base.

She sounded amazing as always. No need for backup vocals, digital enhancements or lip syncing like all the divas of the pop world have these days. Amy Lee can fucken sing! She also got her piano out & plays her most famous songs.

Was really awesome she didn’t just focus on the songs on her new album. In fact she plays more of her old songs. Was awesome. I wasn’t in the ‘pit’ where my sis & her friend was. I stayed up on the stands with my mum, had a great view of the stage & didn’t really want to be pushed & shoved by a bunch of ugly hard rockers. Also the fact I’m practically the shortest 21yo in the crowd would have made it seem pointless to stand in the pit to try get a closer look at Amy.

It was all over in a flash. We waited twice as long as they performed. There were two acts that played before Evanescence which took 2 hours {not including the hour wait outside the stadium}. And Evanescence played for just over an hour. Bit of a bummer but ah well.

She looked exactly the same as when I saw her perform here back in 2006 at the St James Theatre {before it caught fire & left abandoned}.

Gotta admit, not sure I’d go to another one in a hurry. I’ve been to 2 of her concerts, I think that’s enough for a fan like me. Plus my sis is a bigger fan.

Desperate Housewives is scarily close to its very final episode, which from what I know airs on the 13^th of May in America. Gosh what a sad/big week that will be. I guess they’ve already filmed the final scenes then.

Entertainment Weekly appropriately featured the girls on its cover the other week, to mark the end of the show – probably the last cover for the girls. I’ve been trying to purchase it but it seems when it comes to that magazine NZ is 2 weeks behind… strange. The last copy I got was the Scream edition last year.

I’m hoping I’ll be able to get it, if not I’ll have to search online. I think it’ll be on ebay, but there’s still hope. The new one comes out here on Friday, so if it’s not this DH version then its online I go . Be awesome to have something like that about my fave show!

Just wanted to also mention the shocking death of one of the housewives husbands in a recent episode. Totally had me thrown, well to be honest I already heard that someone was getting killed (was hard not too} but had no idea who or when. Then again when Mary Alice starts the episode with 3 major characters then says one of these people will be dead – that’s a giveaway too lol.

Mike shares such a sweet adorable scene with Susan on their front porch when a loan shark/mobster dude drives by and shoots Mike square in the chest – dead. As the bullet flies towards Mike & strikes him time slows and fades to the very first scene of the show when Mike meets Susan, then randomly takes us through important scenes of his life through the past 8 Seasons.

The final scene pans out as Susan holds her dead husband screaming & blood pours from his chest onto the porch. Quite sad, had me sitting there numb-struck with tears in my eyes. I thought it was so random & brutal but bitter sweet at the same time. There are a lot of fucked off fans out there too. Just read the comments on facebook or YouTube, boy are they upset. But not me, Desperate Housewives has always been about death & unexpected bizarre events – that’s how it’s always been on Wisteria Lane since day one – the place where tornadoes hit, planes crash land, riots break out & where people ALWAYS get killed….

I thought it was a worthy death & totally in style of Desperate Housewives & I don’t know how else to put this but it…. suited Mike. As many articles online say, his character has kinda just been floating about like a lost goat for the past few seasons, even James Denton {who plays Mike} said in an interview he really enjoyed the way he left the show,  he even said it was great to go out with a ‘bang’, he’ll always be remembered – plus the show is ending anyway, might as well throw in a few more unexpected ’shockers’.

But I’m not heartless, I can see the other side to it. Since day one Mike & Susan have been the great big love interest of the show, the whole ‘will they?, won’t they?’ situation. They’ve always seem to gravitate towards each other even when they were both in other relationships. It’s been a BIG journey for these two & even when they’d get married and live happily ever after – they never really got the happily ever after part, well they sure as fuck wont now LOL!  Who knows, maybe this is exactly what Susan needs to be a strong, confident & independent woman – opposed to the flaky, camp & dramatic mess she’s been throughout the show. Personally I think it’s for the best, not for Susan but who knows, maybe she needs this to happen in order for the big coming finale to work in her favour. Maybe they’ll bring Ian back from Season 3? Who knows…..

While I’m talking bout my faves, Titanic 3D premiered in the UK last week. It had a red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall in London & Kate, Billy and James were all there. A lot of fans are pissed Leo didn’t show but honestly I couldn’t care less, actually I’m secretly glad the spotlight was more on Kate. I’m sure I’ve mentioned before but I don’t much care for that man/character. My loyalties are with Rose & the ship .

It’s so weird to think that within the next week or so I’ll FINALLY get to experience my favourite film on the big screen. It’s been one of those things that I never had the chance to do and has always hit home every time I played the VHS/DVD at home. I always wondered how thrilling it would have been to have seen such an epic movie on the big screen for the first time.

If there was a pill you could take to let you forget a film you’ve seen I would take it right now! I would love to walk into that cinema for Titanic 3D and pretend like I didn’t already know the entire movie scene by scene and almost line by line. But then again all those times I’ve watched that movie since its release in 1997 has filled me with joy & awe so maybe it’s good that pill doesn’t exist! lol.

I plan to see it in IMAX 3D first. I’ve only ever seen like 4-6  movies my whole life on the IMAX screen here in NZ. Usually I don’t bother with the extra huge screen but I’m going all out on this movie! I plan to also see it in regular 3D as well… fuck might even just see the regular 2D version. Titanic has been a huge part of my childhood {just ask anyone who knows me} so I’ll definitely be making the most of its re-release into cinemas. I’ve prayed for this moment!!!!!

So now I’m already on the topic of movies… it seems this year is even slower movie-wise than last year which was pretty unimpressive I reckon. Since my last blog talking about Young Adult and the other flicks I saw, I’ve seen 5 more…. Underworld 4, The Devil Inside, John Carter, The Hunger Games & Attack the Block. Don’t freak out, I’m not writing a page for each one, just the odd paragraph or 3

Underworld 4 or Underworld: Awakening as it’s officially titled, in my opinion was the best. It was nothing amazing, but still if someone asked me if I wanna watch one of the Underworld series, I’d say sure, as long as it’s the 4th. Don’t get me wrong the first is great, totally original blah blah blah but this latest one was just soooo much more badass & straight up no bullshit.

Kate rocked it in that tight black leather outfit as usual & her killings were fucken kick-ass! I thought the whole storyline was reasonable but don’t go in expecting much at all. It is what is it. Two new hotties as well! The new vamp ‘David’ played by Theo James was fucken delicious – turns out he’s from The Inbetweeners! who knew! The big buff oversized werewolf dude was pretty gorge as well.

The Devil Inside was pretty shit to be honest. Was another one of those movies filmed by shop-brought cameras & filmed by the people in the movie, ya know the whole Blair Witch inspired genre. I wasn’t sure what to expect but kinda wish I hadn’t wasted my money on this. My sis thought it was suppose to be the first best scary film of the year, but boy was she wrong. Half way through you can kinda tell what is going to happen. The ending sucks too, many of the people in our cinema made their feelings very verbally clear as the credit rolled. I silently agreed with them. On the way to the cinema we had to take 2 de-tours on the road due to road closures – I think that was god’s way or trying to warn us not to watch it. hahaha

I thought John Carter was great to be honest. Right up there with Avatar in my books. The thing I’ve noticed a lot with this movie is how people are constantly sizing it up against Avatar and when they say negative remarks there’s usually some mention of Avatar in there. We get it ok. James Cameron has set the bar higher & pushed the expectations of a sci-fi action/adventure/out of this world blockbusters. But who’s to say John Carter isn’t a good movie is its on respect. I’m telling you right now, if this movie had been released BEFORE Avatar even existed – this movie would’ve been a hit. But now all people are saying is, oh its just a copy-cat of Avatar or trying to be better than Avatar but is just too confusing. There’s also soo much emphasis on how the ‘action’ in this movie is underwhelming. So what?, there’s no enormous war between humans and Na’vi – who cares? Does it really need to match that same intensity? grrr sometimes people spend their entire time judging movies against other films when they should just see it for how unique it is {though I do this myself hahaha!}. At least this movie has its own damn sets & wasn’t completely filmed in huge empty warehouses & consisted of 95% fake backgrounds. John Carter is more ‘real’ than Avatar will ever be.

The Hunger Games was pretty good! Great story & really engaging from beginning to end. Had a very attractive cast & half of which looked like they’d been dressed by Lady Gaga! lol. It currently has a 85% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes which is pretty impressive! the only bad thing people have to say is that it doesn’t live up to the book – but c’mon what ‘book-turned-film’ movie have we not heard that about? I also have one bad thing to say, but it’s not that. It wasn’t original at all to me, and you can blame that infamous Asian comic book series called Battle Royale. My sis’s old boyfriend was hugely into anime & got me to read the comic novels. I fucken loved them! There were about 15 books too, pretty big series. About a class of students, taken to an unknown place & given one weapon each – from a kitchen fork to a machine gun – and forced to kill everyone to win. It was this televised event too. Basically exactly like the hunger games, infact it was more savage & brutal, wasn’t done for the celebration of a nations peace {like in Hunger Games} but just straight up entertainment.

Many people will tell you ‘The Hunger Games’ would never even exist if it hadn’t been for that comic series – and they’re right. They also made it into a movie back in 2000 I think, but I’ve been told the Asian version is shit, I’ll wait till Hollywood do one. It’s like that huge horror hit ‘The Ring’. The Asian movie is terrible – even if it was the original cult classic, but the Hollywood one with Sarah Michelle Gellar is great. So yea, during this entire movie all I could think about was Battle Royale & how much fun it was too read those comic novels. The Hunger Games was great, but if the same studio made the Battle Royale books into movies as well, they’d be so much better.

Lastly, Attack the Block was pretty good as well. It’s this weird mash up of alien sci-fi action & some kind of  UK teen drama like ‘Skins’. It’s a movie that makes you feel certain ways about characters in the beginning of a film, then by the last 20mins those feelings have completely transformed – the journey is pretty awesome too. Like all the reviews will tell you it’s a pretty awesome, I’d check it out if I were you makes you wanna get high soooo bad though lol. I love what Time Out said about it “It’s the movie Super 8 wanted to be—or should have been.” spot on!

Well thanks enough movie talk, thought I’d share a little story before I leave. So I went to meet up with a guy the other day. It all went good, except the part when I was trying to actually meet the guy.

So we arrange to meet up, as you do & we decided a place at my old university cos that’s near where he lives plus I know the uni pretty well – well I thought so anyway. I was a little worried about the place to start with because it was on a part of the uni that I’d never been to – I had no classes near it & never seemed to walk/hang out in that area. I get to the place & realise this might not be where I think he said to meet so I sit down & text him to double check if I’m at the right spot.

As I stand up I feel something. Something cold & sticky on my ass rubbing against me. I quickly feel my ass but nothings there & look at where I was sitting expecting to find a puddle of water or bird shit but nothing…. until I put my hands down my pocket to find that one of the lube packets I had in my pocket burst.

My heart sank! I’ve always put them in my pocket & never had one pop – it must have been a faulty packet. Not a huge deal I thought at first, until I realise it was the same pocket my iPod was in. Eeeekkkkk! I pull it out & its smeared with lube. I try to wipe the lube off on my shirt and on my shorts but you all know what lube is like – its kinda like sand, you can’t get rid of it unless you take a shower.

Fuck I must’ve looked funny, standing there feeling my ass & putting my hands down my ass pocket trying to clean out all this lube while at the same time trying to make sure my iPod is lube-free. Luckily no-one was around. It was a Sunday so the place was deserted. I ended up throwing the budget packet in the bin & cleaned up as much of the lube as I could by wiping it on the underside of my t-shirt.

And yes there was a happy ending, turned out the guy was just around the corner just a few meters away, I was just on the wrong side of the building. lol. And my iPod seems fine

Well just wanted to quickly share that random little story with you guys. Might get a laugh out of it, I know I do when I look back at it.

It’s a post I thought I should write about & have been thinking about ever since my early days on here – but never thought how I could turn all these small things I noticed into an entire blog. So I kinda took down notes over the last few weeks & just elaborated on them on here.

I hate to admit this, I really do, but I’ve only ever come into contact with other gay males because of the internet. Maybe I’m a loser? Or maybe I’m just what the new generation is turning into, we don’t go out in search for things anymore – we go online. Whether its food, clothing, a house, movies, music, world events or hell even a lover/partner/friend. We go to our computer screens.

It’s nothing new, I’ve read countless articles about how the internet is taking over this & that not to mention numerous docos online about it. SO I reckon this blog about gays online dating is pretty relevant.

I know it’s sad all the guys I’ve met have all been because of the internet. Makes me realise how lonely/deprived I’d be without it. But I know a couple other guys out there who are just like me. They’ve never hit it off with a handsome guy they met in a coffee shop {like you see in the movies} or had the guts to hit on anyone in a club, or had someone leave their cell phone # on a piece of paper for them. SO what did we do? We all went online.

I’ve had dating profiles online ever since the age of like 16 – maybe even 15. I’m sure I mentioned this in earlier blogs but I grew up/matured fast & knew what sex was & that I wanted it bad. Not just sex but a guy partner. Going online was practically, no it WAS the only way to communicate with other gay guys locally.

The internet helps also when you live in a tiny place like the North Island of NZ, in a city where the gay community is still relatively tiny & is mostly made of closeted, bi, curious & “straight” guys – but they’ll suck your dick LOL! It’s so hard to meet people here. Honestly, if I had to divide all the men I’ve been with in the last 6 years, most would be on the ‘bi/curious/straight’ side rather than fully gay. Hell, most have had partners. eekkk

But I didn’t really want to talk about that side of online dating, more about the dos & don’ts, the annoying & strange, and my own personal opinions of what I’ve experienced & noticed along my long & mostly tedious journey. And so like I say many times in my blogs, it’s basically all biased & what I think so if you don’t agree or feel offended go read someone else’s blog. Or maybe you should be! {ALOT of ‘and’ in there, sorry }

Ok so the number one thing that comes to my mind when I think of online dating is pictures. It’s 2012 & yet the amount of profiles on the internet without any pictures at all, outnumber the ones which do – hugely. I don’t FUCKING GET IT. I feel like asking them, when was the last time you bought clothes, food,  movies, a car, or even a damn house without seeing it with your own human eyes first??? Why would you not need to see the guy your about to do the most humanly intimate activity possible with? Did that sentence make sense? Well you smart guys know what I mean.

I personally think there is NO EXCUSE for not having a photo of yourself online to show guys you talk to. Unless maybe your some hugely successful movie star or politician – even then who really cares. The world is so digital these days, everything has a camera on it, your cell phone, laptop, iPod… even actual digital cameras are cheap as shit – not to mention EVERYONE has pictures of themselves online these days, even if it’s one your friend took.

Then there’s the whole case of, well I’m not out yet, or bi, or both so they can’t have a photo. I’m telling you right now, there’s NOWAY your grandmother is cruising manhunt.com or your mum is checking out squirt.org. I mean are people backwards? In my 6 years of being online I’ve never EVER had a family member spot me on a dating/cruise site. You know why, because they’re not gay! There are twice as many sites out there for straight people. More like TRIPLE!

Sure I guess there’s always the TINY chance you have a gay cousin who could possibly spot you on there, but do you really think they’d say anything about it to anyone? I mean firstly, they’d be admitting they themselves are gay – but also admitting they go on gay cruise/dating websites as well, because it’s the only way they could have spotted your profile in the first place.

I remember an instance waaaaay back in high school when I saw that one of the guys that looked on my profile was a dude from one of my classes . He was not my type & frankly ugly as shit but I was sooo scared. Terrified actually. I thought everyone at school would start mocking me & beating me up. But after a few weeks nothing happened… even he acted like nothing happened. Then I clicked! It was obvious he hadn’t said anything to anyone because as soon as he did they’d ask ‘what the hell were you doing on a website like that anyway?’. Ha! So from then on I kinda felt confident.

But again, the chances are so tiny! Besides most websites have functions so you can upload pictures but just keep them hidden from other members… until you’re ready to show them. Gaydar, Manhunt, NZD, Gayromeo – plus many more ALL enable members to have pictures but keep them hidden until you want to show them to the guys your into . It’s so simple & EASY.

Then there’s the guys who won’t upload a picture to their profile but are willing to send you one via email or text. Fuck those dumbasses make me laugh. They won’t upload a picture to their profile – which can be hidden & usually has the websites logo on it. But they’ll send you a direct copy, to which you can do whatever you like with. haha do they realise how stupid & sorta damaging that is for themselves? Wake up.

ALSO, there’s the guys that don’t have any pics, but they have a webcam. I get it all the time – they say sorry I’ll have to show you on cam. That’s fair enough, I mean at least they have SOMETHING…. right? So you add them to msn, or skype or whatever you use…. wait for each other to show up & you say hi, turn on his cam…. & he’s everything you’re NOT into. Then what? It’s so awkward! You can’t just say ew sorry you’re not my type, or just close the cam without saying anything…. what are you meant to do? I mean you could do those things but that’s not nice & pretty nasty.

It happens to me all the goddamn time. It even happened to me this week, I added a guy from a cruise site who had no pics & he was just, well…. gross. I was left sitting there not knowing what to do, then of course he gets his cock out… making matters worse. In the end I just said I had to go & closed the cam & went offline. but then you have ANOTHER problem. You have this person you just added to your msn/skype etc… & now you have to delete and block them. It sounds simple, but msn doesn’t allow you to block anymore… or does it? And even then it’s just a hassle! You can’t win

The same thing goes for guys who ask for your cell #, so they can pxt you photos. Once you add them, txt them, wait to receive the pic & realise they’re not what you’re looking for… then what? They’ll forever have your cell phone number. Your fucked. & it may be simple to delete a contact off your cell address book but like I just said… they could keep yours and annoy you for days, weeks, months! It’s pretty complicated sometimes.

Honestly dudes there is ABSOLUTEY NO excuse not to have pictures. I personally cannot stand it when I open up a message & click the username to see a faceless, picture-less profile. Are you joking? How the fuck am I suppose to be interested, let alone attracted to that?

I don’t like talking to faceless strangers from the internet. Simple as that.

You know what bugs me the most? Faceless profiles who will send a message & you reply back with ‘got pics?’ & they’ll send one & they’re exactly what your into. GGRRR. Why was that picture not up in the first place? Do they not want any attention from guys? Why are they on there for? Just to perve?? That’s the whole point of a site like that, a page to show what you are/look like to let guys know if they’d be keen. Imagine if EVERY profile online had no pics. It would be one big bullshit guessing game. I’ll never understand. Most the time I never even reply to pictureless profiles.

A bit of a negative first topic but it’s the one that’s probably most common/important for online dating. There’s not a week that goes by that I don’t have to deal with a guy that has no pics. That’s not a lie. It’s so frustrating!

This basically ties in with the next topic – fake profiles & pictures. You guys have read my first hand experience of meeting a dude who sent me fake photos. That was potentially dangerous, thank god it ended as well as it did.

It’s my own fault but it’s not entirely mine. How they fuck was I suppose to know the pictures he sent me were not of himself? And in my defence there was more than one. What kind of man must he be to do that? Send fake pictures & then go through with meeting someone? On the verge of evil? Completely desperate? What do they think is going to happen? ick ick ick. Glad that’s in the past.

It’s usually pretty easy to tell when a guy is using fake photos. You click on a username & see Channing Tatum or David Beckham looking back at you. LOL! Or a muscled stud from a porno you saw a few months back. hahaha my gosh the amount of times I’ve seen that, shit it’s happened to me this week in fact!

But yea I think the epidemic of fakers has ended – well compared to when I first started cruising online. Its more the real younger dudes who do it more I find anyway. But no matter what the case it seems to not affect me like it did years ago or maybe that’s just because I’m pretty pro now at telling them apart. If you know the guy is using pics which aren’t him just do the three step thing ‘report, block & delete’ . Usually you’d just block & delete but if they’re using pics which you KNOW isn’t theirs, REPORT their sorry asses!!

I’ve also found a large amount of men online who are solely on there just to share photos/videos of themselves – nothing else. Personally I’m not into that at all. Firstly because sending explicit pictures of myself to receive his in return doesn’t really do anything for me…. Secondly, well you all know I already have enough videos & photos of myself floating around the web. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing or anyone’s fault, basically my own for posting the shit in the first place. But sending your photos out to guys all the time online is going to really sky-rocket your chances of your vids/pics being re-posted all over the net & shared around like a salad bowl {not a very good comparison }. You do have to be careful with who you give your pictures to. But try telling that to guys who are naked, in front of their computers with a raging hard-on & hormones telling them to plant their seed – they won’t see the logic until a mate tells them they saw it on such and such… & it’s too late. Trust me I learnt the hard way.

I reckon there’s no real point sending handfuls of pics if you’re never going to actually meet the guy in the flesh, your just wasting each other’s time & again, putting your personal content at risk. Yea its nice, but at the end of the day you don’t get anything out of it – maybe just a 30second release {over a photo!!!}. hahahaha

Last two paragraphs might seem a bit hypocritical coming from me – especially this blog filled with explicit photos. But you all know I’m waayyy past the point of return. Even if I stopped right this minute, it won’t stop all the shit that’s already out there circling. Might as well go for gold? lol Who knows….. trust me it’s not for everyone.

Well I’ve somehow already made it to the 4^th page so that’s a good reason to call it quits. Still have quite a bit to cover with this topic so there’ll deff be a part 2 blog.

Sorry if this all seems negative & mean but I know for a fact there are hundreds if not thousands of men out there who will agree and share the same feelings I have on this topic. Hopefully I can lighten it up in the next one But as you have all probably figured out yourselves – the online gay world is very frustrating & most times very disappointing as well as a waste of time. It’s almost the 3^rd month of 2012 & how many movies have I talked about? Practically none!

In fact looking at my movie book right now… I’ve only added 3 movies so far for 2012 {well actually 4, but Melancholia doesn’t count – as it came out in 2011 but just took me ages to finally go see it}.

I’ve seen that crap alien movie set in Russia The Darkest Hour, that weird movie about the 3 teenage boys who attain ’superpowers’ Chronicle, & that strangely awkward yet very entertaining drama Young Adult.

They were all ’so-so’. Didn’t really have any huge effect or great feelings/impressions as I left the cinema. The Darkest Hour in my opinion was a little bizarre… I guess they did the best they could with what they had. Those aliens were pretty fucken weird. Totally original but still something about the movie just didn’t work for me. I LOVED that hulky Russian dude that was apart of that ‘gang/tribe’ that helps escort them to the sub at the end. I think he only had 3 lines in the whole film and each consisting of less than 5 words. hahahaha God I thought he was hot as shit. He had blonde hair too which was interesting. mmmm he was the best thing bout that whole movie.

Chronicle had huge potential but grrr it was kinda frustrating, especially towards the end. It really reminds me how much I hate immature straight boys. Also can I just say that parts in which they go as high as commercial airliners….. I mean can we all just take a moment and go WTF??!!!!. Are you for real? That’s not possible is it? Its freezing up there not to mention the air is so thin you’d probably get a blood nose & pass out after the first 3 minutes.

Who the hell wrote that part? Surely any scientist or even local school science teacher could tell you it’s impossible for a human to travel that high up and be ok let alone live. And the speed at which they were travelling? How were they able to breathe? I’ve seen many docos on TV about Hurricanes & eye witness accounts who say the winds are so fast you can barely breath, it just sucks the air out of you and it’s hard to breath in. Yet these boys are speeding as fast as airliners and aren’t even blue in the face? Mmmmm maybe the same goes for Superman… but then again he’s not human.

But apart from a few logical retardations it was enjoyable. 3 boys go into a mysterious hole in the forest & find something extra ordinary & then wake up the next day to find they have super human abilities. But the things they do from then on are totally immature. But I guess that’s the whole point of the movie, boys too young to deal with something so great & powerful, which leads to one of them being killed, one basically killing himself, & then one fleeing everything he knows/loves to be alone & live with what happened. Pretty depressing ending but yea I’d say it’s worth checking out, maybe just the once though .

Young Adult was a movie I pretty much only went to see because of the hundreds of amazing reviews I read about it. And many articles online basically booing the Oscars line up because they don’t include Charlize Theron for her brilliant performance as this self absorbed, lonely woman with what seems like a mental problem at times.

If you like your movies more real, ya know without heroes with capes saving innocent lives from evil villains, or CGI monsters/disasters or people who have gathered together to fight evil aliens or zombies etc etc etc then this movie will probably be something you’ll like. I myself find myself wanting something more real & earthy, sure I love all the latest blockbuster CGI movies but it’s good to come back down & be moved by real feelings and see people & relationships that actually exists.

After both her divorce & receiving an email from an {VERY} old BF from high school basically tips her over the edge and drives her back to her home town to where everyone she went to high school with still resides. She seems convinced {who knows why? maybe it’s her illness} that she will be able to reconnect with her once high school lover even though he’s happily married with a newborn baby. You know right from the start it’s not going to end well. And boy it sure DOESN’T! lol.

It reminds me of one of those weird late night movies they play once regular people have gone to bed. If you don’t know what to expect you’ll either be totally bored or quiet shocked at the raw emotion & drama of this. I watched the trailer, read about it online & the reviews so going in I knew what to expect, my sister didn’t & was pretty taken back by it.

Young Adult was the best of all three, but I doubt anyone will be talking about either of these 5 years from now.

Remember how I said the weather has been total shit here. Well it still hasn’t really improved. We usually get one single awesome typical Auckland sunny day but the following day it’ll usually rain or be completely cloudy, don’t think we’ve had a single week of constant great weather. In fact last week we had huge thunder storms move over the whole North Island. One even produced a water spout in the Auckland harbour. Not kidding.

The day it happened, it was late afternoon & I was sitting at my desk looking out the building, we’re on the 3^rd floor so we can just see out across the city into the harbour & have some views of the Harbour Bridge & the sky was black with clouds. But it was weird because it wasn’t raining and there was no lightning or thunder.

I wouldn’t have even noticed anything if I hadn’t been looking at the nzherald website. I always open it at work & just refresh the page to keep up to date with the world around me. Honestly I need to as I go a little nuts sometimes. Anyway it was in the afternoon when the funnel cloud came down and touched down near the Harbour Bridge. No one on our level saw it {cos we were all working hard}. It moved through the harbour and then apparently moved up near the North Shore. I read that there was more than one as well, but both never touched down on land so were both classed as ‘Waterspouts’.

It’s like a repeat of last year. Remember when I wrote about that big Tornado that ripped through Albany Mall & killed one person. Looks like that tornado cloud came back for a second year. very strange, in fact I don’t think there’s ever been a twister that close to the city centre of Auckland before. SO PISSED I missed it. We had a perfect view of where the funnel first touched down by the Harbour Bridge, but I guess by the time we looked out it had moved on. Think it was lucky it didn’t come online and turn deadly. So rare to get Tornadoes in central Auckland.

In other total unrelated news, one of my colleagues at work sent me an email with an envious little message & a link saying Radisson is in the Top 10 Best Pools category on Trip Advisor {ya know that site where people go, to bitch about places they’ve stayed at}. I don’t think it’s anything official or factual but maybe they did a poll & that’s how it worked out.

She was jealous because she’s going to Fiji next month but she’s staying at the Sofitel instead. Which is nice but it’s not as grand as the Radisson Just thought I’d share it with you guys. And going back to Evanescence. I can tell you that I will be there at the concert when they play here next month. My sis kindly bought me a ticket. Weirdly enough my mum is even going with us. Well I’ve started on the other themed blog. It’s not done yet and not sure when it will be. It’s nothing to get very excited about. But don’t worry its definitely a popular gay topic we can all agree/disagree on. I’m only taking my time with this one because I really want to be able to say everything I can on it. Plus there’s shit loads to cover with it. So like I said might be a 2 part thing.

Well hope everyone is enjoying the last of their harsh winters. I wish we could enjoy the rest of our summer with it actually feeling like summer but judging from the last 2 months I highly doubt we will. It just poured down with rain a few minutes ago actually. It’s like a monsoon here.

As you can tell this is my weird gay movie/TV show side at its peak. A lot of people always call me a movie buff. but I completely disagree. I pretty much only know shit loads about the movies I care about/want to know the most about. There’s so many franchises/films out there that I basically know shit all about – & I’m happy with that. A lot of the time I don’t let myself get all wrapped up in what it’s about if I know it’s going to be shit or just something that doesn’t appeal to me on any level. Sure I take heaps of risks & get let down {most the time}, but when I find something I love its totally worth it & I get a bit obsessive….. as if you couldn’t already tell . Just your typical gay movie nutter

So yup, those are the movie book covers for 2011. They represent everything I loved & adored on cinema screens for 2011. Also included a splash of TV shows that had a little influence… and of course no cover is complete without having a decent presence of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

Love that fucking show so much. Oh shut up, its ending in a few months so just let me have this . I remember when the promos to the show use to just advertise the most shocking event from the next episode. Now every advert you see has this whole ‘the end is coming’ theme. Like a punch in the guts.

I’ll admit I’m not just sad….. I’m excited, new episodes always get me excited, but the fact the creators and studio are going all out to do {hopefully} the best job of ending such a famous & huge hit show is really making this season that much more special.

We’re exactly half way through Season 8. 12 more episodes to go… but I have a feeling they may turn the last 2 eps into a double feature-length final episode. I’ve seen that done before. But who knows. I swear I’m going to make a huge deal when I watch that. I’ll clean the house, buy lots of delicious food/drinks, maybe get my best mate over & try hold back the tears as I watch the final ever episode of my show. Maybe it’ll be good for me – to finally get over it, but grrr I love those old bitches. Not to mention Wisteria Lane, that’s a character in itself.

The final season is FINALLY starting here in NZ. We were always 6months behind in DH for some odd reason. Ahh well, I get to enjoy all the episodes again! Yippee!! Sure I’ve already seen them but there’s always something special bout snuggling up on the couch with a blanket watching ur fave show. bring on Monday nights!! YAY!!!

Ok so the Big Gay Out was last Sunday & well it was probably the worst yet. Not in terms of the Big Gay Out itself but everything else.

It started at midday & goes till 7pm. Gosh I remember the first one I went to, me & my sis got there while they were still setting everything up lol. But ever since then we’ve always gone a few hours after it starts {like the majority do}.

Anyway I got out of bed at bout 1ish & was pretty pissed when I looked out on the deck to see everything wet & the sky was thick with clouds as a light drizzle fell from them. My heart kinda sank… guess I’d have to wear a shirt this time round hahahaha . To be honest when I saw it was raining I really didn’t want to go.

I went downstairs to see my sister who gave me this look that said ‘its raining, there’s no point going – it’ll just be a waste of a day’. I pretty much shared that feeling, so immediately I went online to the official website for the BGO – but nowhere could I find actual updates on what was going on over in Coyle Park. Nor was there any mention it was even still on. But the thing is with this – it only happens once a year & so much planning goes into getting it all ready from the dance shows on the stage to the tent & stall set ups. It’s one of those events that happens come hell or high water.

I was hoping I would read on the facebook event page for it that it was postponed for next weekend or had cover somewhere but no…. nothing. From then on I wasn’t really in the mood to go so kinda just had something to eat, mucked round a bit, did my teeth & hair & a few other random things….

Then by 3pm I was like fuck this, I don’t ever get to go to any gay events like this ever nor do I even go out so I thought fuck it, we’re going. So I ran up to my sis who has returned to bed & told her c’mon lets go.

When we arrived there, there was no rain & it was actually clearing up ever so slightly. As soon as we got there I ran straight to the mini donut stall & grabbed some. mmmmmmm First BGO to have a mini donut machine! so nice!!! Me & my sis have complained each year that the BGO should have one, and finally they did! Thanks for listening… whoever it was .

We spent most the time on the small beach which is right beside the Park where the actual festivities take place, away from the loud noises, huge crowds & judgemental queens. My best mate was there with his bf & their english friend so the 5 of us sat on the beach talking & laughing. It was real nice, even if the sun never came out from the clouds.

At 5ish we decided to go back up & have a look round the stalls etc. Once we’d done that we camped in front of the stage there. We couldn’t see anything due to the masses of people but just sat once again & talked shit & mucked round.

Then it started to rain, not drizzle like before but fucken rain. My mate had an umbrella so they were ok but me & my sis just sat there like so many others trying to put up with it. After 15 mins I stood up & announced we were leaving. So we all agreed to go – & many others had the same idea. A huge amount of people left the same time we did.

I read that apparently this year’s turnout was the biggest ever with 14,000 people showing up {compared to last year’s 12,000}. I’m not saying this isn’t true but I highly doubt that figure. First of all how do they even count the people in the first place? There are no people at the gates counting how many enter with those clicky things & how could you tell the ones that leave & come back again? Secondly, the weather was shit. In fact I already know of two other gay guys who didn’t attend because they knew the weather was going to be crap – I bet there were countless other {hell I was almost one of them}. Surely that would have meant there were less than last year? Yea there were a lot of people there like always, but over 2,000 more than last year? I don’t believe it, unless someone showed me some hard figures .

Afterwards we went back to my mates place & had dinner. So all in all it wasn’t a total crap day. I enjoyed it. Beach, friends, laughs, dinner – it was cool. Even if I didn’t get to show off my new 2012 bod {which is more pumped compared to FEB 2011 }. Ah well it’s all good. Always next year. I just really wish they would have cancelled it & done it on a weekend where the weather was great, its SOOOOOOO much better at Coyle Park on a sunny day.

As you’ve probably gathered… I didn’t take any pictures this year. Honestly it wasn’t worth it. As I just said I almost didn’t go so yea. I know a lot of you guys look forward to the pics & some have already messaged me saying ‘can’t wait to see BGO pics for 2012′ but all I can do is apologies as there are none I can post on here. I think a few videos have been posted on YouTube from other local gays… of performances on the stage mostly. Since the last blog, every free chance I’ve had – I’ve been working on my book cover. And I’m finished! I was originally going to split the time between that & this but that was so much fun. It looks great, potentially my best work yet lol All it needs now it to be sealed with clear duraseal & then I’ll ‘try’ to scan it & post it on here.

Well 2012 is treating me fine. In fact it’s as if 2011 never left. I guess that’s good, but not in terms of weather. Remember when I said our summer wasn’t kicking off to a very good start. Well the middle hasn’t been much greater either. I’ll admit this week & last week the weather has been brilliant, FINALLY. It’s now the end of January which means we only have ONE more official month of summer left – but we haven’t had one. We have honestly had more rainy/windy days than clear bright typical summer days. So many people are complaining, at work, at home, on the radio even on the news.

They say the good weather should finally stick around but there are a lot of people out there who are fucken furious us kiwis {especially here in Auckland} never got the 3 golden months of summer we normally do. I myself am not too worried, after all I’m going to Fiji at the end of May.

YUP I said it. Tickets are booked & everything. We no, not everything, accommodation is still not fully paid off, nor are the transfers, but flights to Nandi Airport in Fiji are booked, confirmed & paid for on the 25^th of May!!!

Surprised? I sure am. To be honest I’ve had no enormous {or even slight} interest to travel to Fiji – especially after the whole government/army situation over there went all shit box. I keep telling myself, you’re going to FIJI!! It’s like something you see in a sitcom or movie where they all up & leave for the tropics and end up doing something crazy.

To be honest the only reason I’m even doing this is because of the voucher I got from Uni. It expired on the 20^th of Jan & I finally used it on the 18^th!!!!! Gosh I cut it pretty close, even the agent I went to looked at me as though I was stupid & should have used it months ago. Ah well, it was still valid & when May comes I’ll be so thankful for it.

We originally wanted to go in the middle of April {just like our trip last year to the Gold Coast – was a BLAST!} but we realised it was school holidays + Easter holidays & the resorts over there would be in their peak. A LOT of aussies & kiwis head over the ditch to either Gold Coast or the Islands for the April break, & we didn’t want to go while the place was jammed packed with kids & stressed parents around. So we opted for the beginning of May, & she tried to book us the cheapest flight & even apparently had it on hold, but when she went to book the two of us in it wasn’t available – so either she only booked ONE seat or she totally lied. Ah well, we settled for the end of May – the 25^th to be precise . Which is my sis’s 23^rd B’day funnily enough hahaha

So for 5 nights arriving on the 25^th & returning home on the 30^th we’ll get our own little summer in paradise. I wanted to stay longer but I only had a $500 voucher plus with work I didn’t want to ask for too much time off. Plus I’ve heard from multiple people that 5 nights is more than enough for the Islands as it can get pretty boring if you stay longer on those tropical escapes. Also the place we’re staying at wasn’t exactly cheap so 5 nights was more than enough lol.

We’re staying at the Radisson Fiji Resort. It’s one of the newest resorts on Denarau Island – actually I think it IS the newest resort there. Its flash & looks pretty amazing. At the end of the day all the resorts there are pretty much the same. I just went with this one because of the point I just made, plus it has a killer lagoon styled pool! It’s all about the pool, & everyone knows it. Was a close call between the Radisson & Sofitel resort. The Sofitel resort is within walking distance from the Radisson & was even cheaper. But its pool didn’t beat the Radissons. It still looks cool though, & definitely a wicked place to stay, hell I’ll walk over & try the place out myself

People who have stayed at Denarau Island have told me that you can walk around and use restaurants in the other resorts & they don’t seem to care if you swim in their pool either. It’s true that the Island doesn’t have outstanding picturesque beaches, but they make up for it with the pools .

Am gonna plan 2 days trips for us as well. One out to Treasure Island & still not sure about the other one. Let you guys know when it comes sooner to the time. So yea that’s some reasonably big and more exciting news compared to what I normally ramble on about

Am in love with Lana Del Rey’s new single ‘Born to Die’. Song is so strange & when I first heard it, well I was actually more taken with the music video than the song. So visually stunning and matches the music perfectly. The song is very slow and depressing which isn’t normally my thing but her voice is so mesmerising. Plus I love some of the lines she uses in the lyrics.

It’s such a raw emotional song & you can tell she’s obviously taking about a past lover she once had. The ending has a good little twist on it as well – with her dead in his arms. Speaking of Lana Del Rey – she seems to have just come out of no-where. I walked into a book shop the other day & saw her on 3 magazine covers in the music section. Gosh, I didn’t even know anything about her. my friend told me she had another single out too called ‘Video Games’ which was pretty popular already. All the magazines were saying she’s the next ‘big’ thing & she’s what to look out for in 2012. Poor girl, they’re really raising the bar for her. I like how she’s being unique, but not to the same standard Lady Gaga is. Its subtle & sexy. Not outlandish & tacky.

And in more music of interest. Amy Lee’s new single off her latest Evanescence album ‘My Heart is Broken’ has been released with a music video. I love Amy – she’s one of the greatest female vocalist out there, and boy do I love the song – best one on the album, but the video is boring as fuck. It’s almost a little pointless. I can totally see what they were doing & the message etc etc. trapped in this world which she’s created herself, very deep & metaphorical & dark blah blah but I had just envisioned something more interesting and with a story.

Like something to do with her seeing things going on in the world or something, for example having one shot of her walking along the beach as black waves roll in thick with oil. She’s in a silky beautiful white gown that has a huge trail behind her… its covered in oil & pulling her back – all around her oil covered birds are rolling around dying from the pollution & fish, sharks, even whales have washed up and are twitching in pain. Or her running through a street in England during one of the riots or a street in the middle east as bullets fly past her and children lay dead in the streets & she kneels down amongst the gunfire to pluck a small dying child up as soldiers and rioters ignore them both & continue to fight. OR her bloodied and bruised picking her way through a devastated city street after a huge earthquake as dust & smoke billows in the wind.

Probably a little strange & not exactly what she was talking about in her lyrics, but that’s the whole idea of the song. Her heart is broken – it doesn’t always need to be literal & exact {yes we knows he’s talking about a guy, pft what love song doesn’t?}. You can branch out & have a more holistic/worldly view of things. Anyway that’s just what I had in mind.

This morning I found out that Evanescence is coming back to NZ! My sis is a crazy fan & was all over the bands website/facebook trying to find out the tour for the new Album, because they came here & did a few shows here in Auckland way back in 2007. We found out she was touring South America, USA, & Australia but there was no mention of little NZ so she gave up.

But this morning while I was at work scanning through the herald website which I do all the time – I couldn’t miss the picture of Amy & the band and the headline “Evanescence to heat up at Vector Arena”. I phoned my sis & told her while she was at work, best news she’d heard all year. Cute.

So this March 31^st is the concert & I’m almost 99% certain I’ll be there. Their first concert here was my very first every concert/live band event I’ve ever been too. Back then she played in a smaller theatre & I was so young, barely 17. Weirdest thing of all was all the dudes that kept asking if I wanted to be picked up & be sat on their shoulders in the crowd {at least 3 total strangers}. I remember one of the guys was hot as FUCK & was even standing with his gf right beside him, she gave him the evilest look but he was dead serious. I just kindly said thanks but no thanks & went all red. Damn would have loved to have had my legs wrapped around that buff metal head. mmmmmm

A couple months back I did a blog on Absolutely Fabulous {Ab Fab} & mentioned they were returning to the small screen. Some people were shocked & others didn’t even believe me. Well it happened! They filmed it & have already aired the first 2 episodes {they’re more specials than actual episodes}. They’ve even been on TV here in NZ too. That’s how big the show is, NZ only had to wait a few weeks for it, usually we wait months.

If there was a pill you could take to make you forget movies/shows you’ve seen I would be over dosing on it as there’s nothing like watching an episode of a show you love for the very first time. Sure you can buy it and watch it over & over but that first viewing will just be an amazing memory. The jokes are never AS funny, and there’s never AS much surprise or suspense.

After the first one came out in the UK for Christmas I downloaded it & watched it before the week was over. It was so good, just as good as all the other seasons & it was like nothing had changed – which was what all us fans were afraid of. Eddy may have tripled in size & patsy looked closer to death more than ever before but fuck they still owned it. Was sad when the credits rolled up. All those years of talking about wanting the show to come back with my mates & then the months of hype before the new episodes finally came out… and it was all over in 30 minutes.

So instead of downloading the 2^nd episode after it aired in the UK, I waited & watched on TV here on the couch like a regular person. To be honest I thought this one wasn’t as funny. Patsy didn’t really have a huge influence, plus the main guest star they had – well I had no idea who she was to be honest so I didn’t really get half the jokes. but all in all it was still fabulous & made me laugh loud enough for the neighbours to hear.

Apparently from what I’ve read, there will be one final special which will be feature length like the ‘Gay’ special when they went to NYC. But it won’t come out till the London Olympics start. Not sure why, maybe just for the higher viewing no.s, or maybe there’s a link or connection between the two. I’m super excited & will try not cry when the credits roll.

I love the show & those heavy-drinking, drug-abusing bitches rock my world. But Jennifer has confirmed it will be the last time the gang get together {well that’s what the article I read said}. However if you google the show there seems to be heavy debate of more “specials” & apparently even a SIXTH episode that BBC is urging for.

I guess we’ll see what happens… I’m all for more Ab Fab but if the next Special is the VERY last, it won’t be the end of the world. Or will it? hahaha

In more local gay news. The annual Big Gay Out is closer than I ever realise. It’s on the 12^th of Feb, which is not this weekend but the following. Think I’ve done a few blogs in the past about the Big Gay Out already, so if your keen to go back  & read them {or just perve at the pics } or find out what the hell I’m even talking about just click on any of the February or March months on the right had side column which will bring up past blogs. Should be one every Feb, but might have posted in March….

Anyway I’m looking forward to it. Like I’ve said before it’s the biggest & in my opinion the most decent event the gays here in Auckland have to go to. We don’t have anything close to the festivities or parties overseas so this little ‘out in the park’ day is pretty nice. Last year almost 12,000 people turned up, which is pretty big for the Auckland gay community here {its tiny}. In the last year I’ve been out clubbing twice & don’t really ever spend time up at K’road which is the heart of the gay precinct here in Auckland, so this will be much needed ‘out there’ fun

Christmas 2011

To be honest I wasn’t feeling it much this time round, besides every blog/website out there is wishing everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy Holiday anyway – to the point where it’s almost unbearable. So I’m sure no one had a little cry just because the daveyboy didn’t send one of the generic messages out to the masses.

But being the cute sweet lil thang I am *cough* I hope you guys did enjoy your Christmas – whether you were alone or with family or hooking up {good on ya } & did manage to get some time off work. I just did the whole stay at home with family thing, sent down south a bit to see my dad & managed to get 4 days off work.

but a few days after Christmas I got a lil sick so wasn’t feeling the best & during the 3 days going back to work before New Years I had to take one of them off to visit the doctor. So yea not the best holiday for me but ah well I got over it pretty quick & am back on my feet now which is what matters And can I just say it’s not the easiest going to the doctors over the holiday period. Apparently people don’t get sick then.

So it’s 2012, my gosh! Feels no different to last year or the year before that. They just seem to keep rolling along & we all get that much older. Grrrr! I wish I could have stayed 19 forever. But we can’t so let’s just quit the crap and move with the times

Gotta start the year off with a movie I saw the other day – my first film of 2012 in fact {although it’s still a 2011 movie }. Melancholia.

The film is fucken OUTSTANDING! When I watched the trailer months ago I thought, oh yea a planet hurtling towards the Earth, the whole ‘end of the world’ thing – I’ll love it. But I’ve fallen in love with everything else that made this movie so memorising.

Sure it’s basically just a beautiful movie about the end of the world – which it strangely even markets itself as, and even uses that exact tagline but it was nothing like The Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day or 2010’s 2012. This movie was so lush and haunting & was more a romance/drama than a disaster flick.

As anyone who has seen the movie will tell you, the first 10 minutes are brilliant. Gorgeous imagery & the score – my god its perfect & unique. And the last 5 minutes will leave you breathless – seriously something you need to experience on the big screen.

It’s one of those movies that really pulls on your emotions, you’ll have a giggle, get frustrated, maybe get a tad horny {espec. if you’re a straight dude} and be in total amazement & by the end of it find yourself mentally exhausted. The end is so unexpected, yet we know what is going to happen right from the start – hell right from the minute you watch the trailer.

Just the way this movie has been put together and the design & style – gosh they just don’t make movies like this anymore, it’s all about 3D & graphics and all the other shit. Was so refreshing to actually feel something for the characters in this movie & my god the two leading ladies were brilliant. You really feel the dread as the ‘end’ draws near. Empire gave it 5 stars and… well in fact hundreds of critics and mags/sites have given the movie 5 stars.

If I could re-award my Best Movie for 2011 this would TOTALLY be right directly behind Scream 4. The only drawback is… the movie is 2hrs & 10mins long.. and not exactly something you can just slap on & watch if you’re in the mood to be entertained. the movie requires a certain crowd and mood if you will. Not exactly something you’d throw on if you had a bunch of mates over – well unless they wanted to all sit there and actually shut up for over 2hrs and be absorbed by the film & like arty smart movies. But still this movie deserves every award/praise that’s thrown its way. Amazing film making Lars von Trier!

Kirsten Dunst won Best Actress at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival & the movie has already won countless ‘Best Movie’ categories in hundreds of award organisations out there.

This movie should AT LEAST be Nominated for an Oscar! I’ll deff be adding this to my collection of Blurays. One of the most gorgeous depressing movies I’ve ever seen. Fuck up right

I’ve already started making my movie book cover that I do at the beginning of every year. Last year’s cover was my best yet & they seem to be getting better and better but not sure if I can out-do myself this time round. The bar is pretty high . I have so much fun making it. But not much time these days, especially when I don’t get home till 7, sometimes 8 every night. I’ll be sure to let you guys see the finished result. Still a way off yet though. “Moving on….“

Anyway before I shoot off just wanted to share that sometime during April/May I could be flying off to the Islands in the Pacific for a resort.

Not sure if I mentioned – probably not because I don’t brag {show off} – but during January 2011 I received a special award for my achievements at uni. It was a $500 voucher for travel for Harvey World Travel services & get this – it was donated by the company that I work for now! hahaha what are the odds. But away, you know how vouchers last for one year after the date of purchase. Well it was purchased 20^th Jan 2011. So Next Friday – it’ll be as useful as toilet paper.

SO I figured fuck it – I’ll just book a trip to the Islands. Just for a few nights, its close and not that expensive plus I’ve never been & I think I’m due for another holiday…. after all my last one was almost a year ago. Remember I went to the Gold Coast with my sis & mum. This time it’ll just be me & my sis.

Thing is we have no idea where to go…. Fiji, Rarotonga, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu etc etc. I’d LOVE to go to Hawaii but the cost of the return flights themselves are far too much for what I have in my bank. We’ve narrowed it down to either Fiji, Samoa or Rarotonga. There’s this place in Samoa that breeds turtles & they let you swim with them which is something my sister is dying to do. I don’t really care where we go, they’re all the same… resorts, beaches, trees, more beaches, more resorts etc etc so as long as our resort has a awesome pool & has a relatively nice beach front I’m keen. Will probably only be for 4 nights anyway.

Nothing is booked or official yet but I swear I’m going to book a trip somewhere before the 20^th!!!! Exciting I’ll let you all know. And if you know a exceptional resort to go to HIT ME UP BEFORE THEN

Hello & Welcome to the Official 2nd Annual Daveyboy Movie Awards {DMAs}

Gosh it’s been a year ALREADY! I’ll get over it

Anyway I’ve got out my movie book {My Crafts} to help me go through all the movies I’ve seen this year. I know the year isn’t officially complete but there’s only a few days left & I probably won’t make it to the cinema before then. Well here’s the list of movies I saw in order in 2011: Tangled, Burlesque, Black Swan, Gnomeo & Juliet, Unknown, No Strings Attached, SAW: The Final Chapter, Rango, Red Riding Hood, Battle: Los Angeles, Suckerpunch, Rio, Scream 4, Hop, Paul, Thor, Your Highness, Super 8, Bridesmaids, Bad teacher, Transformers 3, Kung Fu Panda 2, Harry Potter 7 part 2, Captain America, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Cowboys & Aliens, Horrible Bosses, Priest, Final Destination 5, Hanna, Shark Night 3D, Paranormal Activity 3, Fright Night, Contagion, Conan, Inbetweeners, Breaking Dawn, Immortals. That’s a total of 38 movies.

Last year I saw a total of 46. So there’s been a decline… . However I do plan to see The Muppets, The Adventures of Tintin & Melancholia – all before the year is over… but even then that would only raise the total for 2011 to 41. Should really wait till the year is over, but like I said I’m not even certain I will manage to get to see these before then, so fuck it I’ll just do it now . {its not like anyone cares}.

Bam here we go – & yes I will repeat just like last year, this is all completely made up fun & my own personal opinion – these movies aren’t really getting anything LOL . And I’m totally biased towards movies I love etc etc even if I do use unquestionable evidence to back myself up hahaha.

BEST MOVIE OF 2011: SCRE4M (Scream 4)

If you’ve followed the blog you would have probably already guessed that was coming, and your right. Just like Sex & the City 2 (& Toy Story 3) last year, Scream 4 is the movie that stands out for me for 2011. Like I’ve mentioned before, the Scream series is right up there with Titanic in my eyes, I’ve always loved it ever since my mum introduced me & my sis to it way back in our early teens {cool mum huh }. I just love the way it’s so eerie & realistic & not some stupid ghost or zombie or monster. It’s a human in that freaky as shit infamous Scream costume. And although many critics don’t say it was the better than the original {pft what is these days?} they agree it was the best sequel so far. It was perfectly relevant to today’s new & constantly growing multimedia world not to mention it was just as ’self aware’ as all the other movies. It was EXACTLY what this decade’s generation of teens is all about. Maybe that’s why so many {older} critics have been giving it so much sh*t. There is a huge difference in culture with teens from then {1996} to now 2011 – don’t people realise this? Jill was basically a representation for today’s generation of teenagers. Today’s teenagers are fed by Hollywood fame & celebrity. Jill just wanted the fans & attention {much like ALOT of people I know…}. She just took it to the next level. 2.0. Scream 4 had me hooked & wanting a 5th instalment – Bring it on Wes & Kevin!!!

BEST COMEDY MOVIE OF 2011: Bridesmaids

Without a doubt it had to be this movie – laughed the most/loudest when I went and saw this in cinemas. Didn’t expect a lot but fuck it had me & me sis almost falling out of our seats. Not sure what else to say about it, a lot of people say it’s basically just the woman version of ‘The Hangover’. They can all go suck a fat one – this was better. I had a real fun time watching Horrible Bosses with my mates, a few really out-loud moments but nothing as great as Bridesmaids. Paul was also probably on the same level. Anyway, I loved the bitchy stuck up/classy housewife character, she cracked me up, just the way she spoke and acted – I wish we got to see more of her. Ah well who knows maybe there’ll be a sequel next year?

SCARIEST MOVIE OF 2011:  Paranormal Activity 3

I’m following the lead from last year and going to say it’s gotta be that creepy PA franchise that added another addition this year. This third movie was twice as good as the 2^nd! Was pretty good to see how it all sorta started and kinda made the 1^st & 2^nd make more sense. The movie itself wasn’t anything I’ll be rushing out to buy but this was definitely the scariest movie of the year – without a doubt. It practically had no competition this year. SAW 7 is all about making your guts churn & Shark Night 3D was almost laughable. I think Fright Night was suppose to be scary but I was turned on the whole time…

BEST ANIMATED MOVIE OF 2011: Tangled

Was the closest Disney ever got to rebranding their original classic style of film making. Sure it’s no Beauty & the Beast or The Lion King but still it was worth at least 4 stars, had everything you expect from a classic fair-tale including the dark side to it, in fact it was frankly creepy in some parts. Great characters both main & minor, great songs & of course amazing graphics and art design. Kung Fu Panda 2 was the next best animation, but still seemed to be lacking something – there’s a lot of scenes in it where I just zone out. I had great hopes for Rio as well… but that never took off for me. Tangled was gorgeous & sweet as every Disney movie should be. Better luck next year DreamWorks .

BEST MUSICAL MOVIE OF 2011: Burlesque

It was the only musical I saw this year… so go figure. I loved it anyway, so even if I had seen at least another I have a gut feeling my over-the-top gay flick would have still been on top. Critics laughed at it & I’m pretty sure it’s already in the bargain bins but I paid full price for it & am glad I did . The movie was awesome! The songs were pretty outstanding – let’s not forget 2 of them were nominated for a Golden Globe – and one of them WON it! Best Original song!! Wicked! SO many critics have slammed it for being clichéd – predictable – not original. However when Avatar is basically a copy of Fern Gully & Pocahontas no one cares…The movie was just a different take on the same old story of a girl in a small town with big dreams wanting to make it big in the city – & they rocked it!

BEST FRANCHISE ‘ADD-ON’: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II

Gosh this was SUCH A HARD decision to make! Kung Fu Panda 2, Happy Potter 7 Part 2, Final Destination 5, Paranormal Activity 3 & of course Scream 4 {but that won Best Movie so I’ll leave it out } – even Breaking Dawn was the best ‘Add On’ movie for me this year….but I gotta hand it to Potter. It’s a franchise I have NEVER been into & was forced to listen to my teacher read us the first book way back in primary school. Ever since then I knew it wasn’t for me – which is odd because I love magic & all that creepy scary stuff that comes with it. This final movie was pretty epic, even after watching the trailer I was a little excited for it. I’m glad it’s finally over, and am even happier it managed to pump out ONE movie I could actually enjoy watching again & again. Nice job.

SADDEST MOVIE OF 2011: Black Swan

I’m so torn between these two movies… Red Riding Hood & Black Swan. Honestly think it should go to Black Swan as the leading lady does {seem} to die in the end. Red Riding Hood just ended with her being sort of an outcast & living in the woods by herself waiting for the chance to be with her lover again {who is freakily & somewhat scarily still stalking her }. Poor Nina was obviously suffering from some mental problems and her life style wasn’t helping at all. She fucken nailed it at the end, but it was the death of her. Just that last scene where she’s bleeding on stage & the realisation of what she’d been doing to herself finally kicks in & then the plummet to the floor & the fade out to… WHITE! Was totally depressing – but great nonetheless. Red Riding Hood was probably on the same level for me, but can only pick one. Suckerpunch was also pretty sad… they all get killed – except the girl who was against their escape plans from the start. Completely unfair.

HOTTEST CAST AWARD: Immortals

Shark Night 3D was very close behind but for some reason the buff babes in Immortals takes the cake this year. In fact the entire movie was pretty glammed up and pretty. The leading stud was like walking sex and the male gods were each hotter than the other. mmmmmmmm. I mean – I wanna have that man’s babies! It would be more appropriate for me to have chosen Shark Night 3D – with those guys being younger and around my age – but the fact that movie was just so god awful just really puts me off choosing it for this category. But in all honesty those guys were still gorgeous no matter what Thor, Fright Night, Conan, Captain America all had delicious leads but just not enough .

MOST ‘HYPED-FOR/ANTICIPATED’ MOVIE OF 2011: Scream 4

Goes without saying really…. I basically counted down the days till this movie premiered here in NZ. strange thing is – the day it came out I was in Australia on my holiday way back in Feb. So ended up seeing this in another country. How weird is that I’ll never forget that random interview I watched online years back with Wes Craven – saying he would definitely do more Scream movies but would wait at least 10 years. I always thought it was just something he made up for the camera but turned out he was being dead serious! I hope they do a 5th!!! *I was right about last year’s winner *

WORST MOVIE OF 2011: Shark Night 3D

Again this was pretty difficult as well… quite a few movies on par with this terrible one…. Saw, Battle: Los Angeles, Suckerpunch, Hop, Your Highness, even No Strings Attached {although I had no desire to watch it but was dragged into it – by my manager oddly enough}. Even Tranny Fuckers {ops I mean Transformers 3 } was a pile of shit I hope to never watch again. Honestly, me & the rest of the world thought Shark Night 3D was going to be this year’s Piranha 3D – but holy fuck were we ALL wrong. This movie BOMBED! Both is terms of acting, dialogue, storyline & graphics – no especially graphics. I swear they were worst than a movie made 10 years ago. It wasn’t even funny. Anyway I’ll just leave it at that, don’t waste 1 ½ hours of your life by watching this. You will regret it. I do, I really do.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF 2011: Battle Los Angeles

Shark Night 3D goes hand in hand with this but Battle Los Angeles really did surprise me. Its trailer had both me & my sis pumped as fuck for it, but half way through the movie when I realised it wasn’t going to pick itself up I was like whoa. This is nothing how I imagined it would be. The camera-ing was all over the damn place & I felt sick in the final half. I know it was trying to create this whole ‘real’ Cloverfield sort of style but it did not work. In fact I prefer last year’s Skyline over this one anyway. Maybe it was just a bit too macho & ‘army’ for me. They spent so much money on the fake destruction of downtown LA but you barely even get to see it {I read about it in Empire}. Just those big eagle-eye shots from above but nothing up close. Bad teacher was also pretty disappointing for me. I went in thinking it would be as amazing as Bridesmaids but my god this movie offered up barely anything more than what you already laughed at in its trailer….

BIGGEST REGRET OF 2011: Hop

If I could remove any movie from my brain – this would have to be at the top of the list. I know it’s a kinds movie, but still… it was just shit. I probably sound harsh but pft I don’t care. The only reason we saw this was because we has to check out of our accommodation at 10 and had like 4 or 5 hours to kill before our flight so just went to the hall & sat through this. But even still it should have been better! Was just annoying for me to watch. Was the first movie I ever had hot food with as well. Here in NZ you can’t buy actual food other than popcorn and ice cream etc. Was so fucken delicious sitting there eating chips and nuggets. Was better than the movie! Honest!

And there you go, the second ever DMAs {could be the last who knows…}. Was good to go back and review all the movies I’ve watched over the past year. Wasn’t really a great movie year for me to be honest, without my Scream 4 I really didn’t have a hell of a lot to look forward too. I bet next year will pick up though . I was also going to introduce a new winning category ‘Best straight-to-DVD-movie’ but the thing is I don’t keep track of the movies we rent from the video store… so I couldn’t really give a fair winner as I can only really remember the movies from the last 6 or 7 months or so form the top of my head. errmmm maybe I should start writing them down or something? Oh well.

Anyway Christmas day will probably be a thing of the past for most of you who are reading this now, was hoping I would have posted by the 24^th on the latest but it’s not exactly a quick process choosing the movies and then writing all this up.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas day no matter what freaky religion you follow. & if I don’t get in touch before the big change over to 2012 have a great New Year’s night/day.

Wow, ok – so my last post was almost a month ago, my god that’s a new record for me! I’M SORRY! Fuck, I should have started writing this ages ago but I just keep running out of time, or keep putting this at the bottom of my list of things to do.

Anyway you can all quit your bitchin’ & complaining, cos I’m here now so read your heart out, or just stare at the pics, yeas I know you do .

Where do I start?, it’s been a month but my situation hasn’t really changed at all. Work is sweet & pretty much unchanged, if anything I’ve gotten to know the people I work with a little better & am even at the stage where you can make fun of each other & laugh it off without it being weird – so that progressing well .

Its officially summer here, & has been for 2 weeks now but it’s been cloudy & rainy/windy here in AKL so no one has really noticed it. If anything we should all enjoy it while it lasts, cos Jan & Feb can dry up pretty harsh.

The malls are decorated & the holiday adverts have been playing on TV for some time now… am I the only one who finds it impossible that in a few short weeks 2011 will be over and done with? Where the fuck did it go…. & if the Mayans are anything to go by, we have just 1 year left to live. hahaha

I’ve gone shopping for my mum already. Does anyone remember that blog I did about the exact same time last year ‘Devious Disney’?. Well yea I went back to the infamous online store & hunted out more pressies for my Mum. In fact I found more than enough, in total I spent about $300. Thank god for credit cards right? nah to hell with them!!

Anyway, I didn’t want a repeat of what happened last time so I threw a shit load of money on my credit card to make sure there would be enough for the transaction to go through smoothly – and it did. And it even arrived a lot faster than the last one – which also ties into the following blog I posted right after the ‘Devious Disney’ one last year called ‘Rude Awakening’ – which talked about how the courier dude who delivered the Globe we bought, came into my bedroom, hahaha funny/weird memories!

Mum has been going through this weird ‘doll’ craze {I think it’s due to the mid-life crisis}. She’s collecting Barbie & Bratz dolls and dressing them up & doing their hair & setting them up in her cabinets on display etc. It’s a little weird but everyone is just kinda rolling with it, I mean she is turning the big 5-0 next month. I wonder what I’ll be going through when I hit that age, ick I shudder to think.

Ended up buying her an entire set of Princess Barbie’s from all the Classic Disney movies – they’ve always had a pretty big part in our lives {especially as kids growing up} plus they all look awesome & it seems like a collector’s item kinda thing. I’m sure she’ll love it, I bet she won’t even take it out of the box Gotta say the online pics are nothing compared to how impressive it looks in real life. I guess my gayness really came out cos the detail on the dolls is wicked & I showed my mate & even he was impressed. Also got her a miniature Rapunzel  doll form the latest Disney Princess movie ‘Tangled’. I really wanted to get her the Belle doll, but at the time they were sold out. Grrrrr so mad because if you have a look now, they have them in stock! Ah well, I’ll just get it for her Birthday next month.

I’ve also put together a little something for my team at work. Nothing much, just bought these little bags and filled them with all the usual Christmas chocolates and other junk lollies. Put a card in with it as well. Uber gay I know, if they don’t know I’m gay yet they probably will after I hand them out hahahaha . I’m just gonna get there real early and plant them of each person’s desk – then hide for the rest of the day! lol. I just can’t help but be nice. I’m also planning to get some flowers for my team leader. Just to say thanks for all the help/hard work she does. Probably do that this Friday, before the BIG day & everyone escapes for their holidays.

Anyway, it’s that time of year again {which I’m sure most have noticed anyway} where websites/bloggers/magazines etc etc & even the News – wrap up the year that was with the Best & Worst, whether its movies & music or world events & national headlines. So far I’ve already read 3 blogs summing up the best 20 films of 2011. It’s exciting, but also a little sad… the year is over & we have to go through all that shit again. Also reminds us of all the great things that happened in 2011 & now will be nothing but a memory or will sit on a shelf and age with the passing years.

Here’s an example, the movie Black Swan {is being mentioned in many best movies for 2011} – was pretty impressive & for the first half of the year was one of the most controversial & talked about movies which also cleaned out many award ceremonies. Yet right now at the end of the year, it’s as if it didn’t exist – the DVD/Bluray is already in the bargain bins and if anyone bought it – I bet its just sitting in those shelves/boxes collecting dust. But I guess that’s just life {well in terms of film anyway}, very short lived, like a wave, once it breaks & crashes up shore, it’s nothing but a memory to those who saw it.

And for anyone who was around Dec last year following the blog – I did my own Daveyboy Awards {a little weird & geeky but I enjoyed it }. And for the very few who have already asked – Yes I’m doing another one, in fact it’ll probably the very next blog. But before I sum up my opinions on 2011 movies I have to mention quickly 2 movies I saw recently.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 – I read the books & loved them, but ever since watching the first movie my love for this whole Twilight Hollywood series has plummeted –to which I have echoed countless times throughout this blog, quite frankly they suck ass. I went along to this movie thinking I hope it’s not AS BAD as the previous third instalment which to this day is the worst. Don’t worry I’m not going to write  a whole page on this just surprise you all by saying I…. sort of enjoyed it. SHOCK HORROR.

I know right, I should be slapping myself, but in all honesty – if I had to watch any one of these films I would most definitely pick the latest one, personally I think it was better than the previous 3 – combined. I’ll admit the first half of the movie was total rubbish & almost painful to watch in some parts {wedding/honeymoon} but the last half of the movie, once they return from their honeymoon makes up for the rest. I especially loved the part where her corpse is laying there & the “venom” begins to jump start her ugly broken figure & transform her into this gorgeous snow while like character. It was just how I imagined as I read it in the book.

One thing that fucked me off though was the ‘birthing’ if that’s what you could call it. In the book, Bella is in so much pain she basically blacks out, bleeds out & dies before the baby is taken out etc etc. In the book Edward rips her open & bites open the placenta with his own teeth, pulls the baby out, shoves it over to Rosalie & then gets back on trying to save her life but realised her heart is stopping to bites her all over. In the movie – he takes the baby out & shows it to Bella {who is awake & seems to be in not that much pain – even though he ripped her open} & lets her hold it. She has about a minute with the ‘thing’ and then they finally pass it over to Rosalie….. Not sure why they did that, seemed so unrealistic to me. Anyway….

Critics have absolutely slammed it {probably because of the whole unprotected sex with a vampire thing – not to mention the birthing scene is pretty horrific, and countless other things}.

One of the best reviews I’ve read was that from flicks.co.nz’s Rebecca who said: “Aside from the fact that the fourth instalment in the Twilight film series sounds like a description of flatulence, Breaking Dawn is the worst Twilight film to date. The story is weak, the script embarrassing and the action, when there is any, completely silly. Twilight has never been the most high-brow phenomenon but what the first three films had in spades – erotic tension – falls as limp as a cold vampire appendage.” I honestly laughed out loud when I read this at work, fucken spot on.

Chicago Sun-Times added “…has without doubt the most blood-curdling scene of live childbirth in a PG-13 movie.” FUNNY!

Immortals wasn’t half bad either, but just like Twilight – I won’t be buying it. Was jam packed with muscle studs though, so even if it was a little weak at heart it still pushed some good buttons . The lead – Henry Cavill is someone who I’d be more than happy waking up to for the rest of my life. FUCK ME SIDEWAYS! If it wasn’t for him I would have fallen asleep. Luke Evans who played Zeus was also delicious, I’ve seen him in other movies but damn he just seemed so sexy in this role. One of my fave hotties Kellan Lutz was there as well, playing Poseidon – very cool. He didn’t have a very big role but my god he looked so amazing as a god . I’d worship him.

That was probably the best part for me, the gods & their costumes, they were all so fuckable. Their costume designs were a bit outlandish – as if they hired Lady Gaga as the designer. HAHA!

YUM!

Gotta agree with the critics on this one though – which can be best summarised  up by Chicago Sun-Times as “Without doubt the best-looking awful movie you will ever see.” Maybe a little too harsh… but you get the idea. It was visually unique and interesting but didn’t really have much going on inside, well that was original anyway. Even Total Film wrote “Good-looking to a fault, Immortals boasts moments of undeniable grandeur. Elsewhere, though, it is deathly dull.”.

I think it’s mostly due to work, we’re flat out. And apparently it won’t start slowing down till March/April next year. eeeekkkkk Ah well keeps me busy & focused and the days are going reasonably fast. Shit now that I’ve just said that I bet tomorrow will drag on hahahaha.

One thing I wish was just as busy is my sex life. Fuck 2011 has been so utterly shit. I mean I’ve met probably half as many men as last year & probably less than half of them weren’t BF worthy or even what I was expecting…. As always the messages have been continuously flowing in from Australia, America, Canada, UK, all of Europe… and everywhere ELSE but here in NZ. Ah well, I guess that means I just need to get this tight ass off this island right?

Who knows, I’ve met some really good guys here but nothing seems to last. People always say ’shit dude you must have a million fuck buddies’. Oh how I {sometimes} wish that was true . I mean of course I have guys I have fun with {I’m young, gay, in heat & in the prime years of my life – I gotta fuck SOMETHING}, but I’m not sure they can be considered fuck buddies? I mean how often do you need to meet the guy for him to be a fuck buddy? More than 3 or 4 times a year? – cos that’s about as close as I can get. Still haven’t met someone I can call up & meet up with every weekend or at least once a month with… would prefer a partner but blah it doesn’t seem to want to happen.

I message loads of guys online but the ratio of replies is almost embarrassing, am I saying the wrong stuff? Am I that fucken hideous to not even deserve a reply? Who knows. Maybe my standards are too high? And I find it almost unbelievable and strange that I get guys overseas almost begging to get with me, some of the hottest fuckers I’ve ever seen too. It doesn’t make any sense. Yet here in NZ it seems everyone is taking some anti-daveyboy drug.

Who knows, I’m sure I’ll find someone eventually – to echo what everyone has been telling me since I was 16 . Anyway enough of that depressing bullshit, I’m just horny as 5000 rabbits on heat and feeling kinda lonely, it happens LOL! And people wonder why I put solo vids online…..

Went & saw that newish action/medieval flick: Conan the Barbarian. I honestly had no intention to see it when I saw the posters go up for it & even its first trailer made it seem like a crappier version of that Prince of Persia movie which went… NOwhere. But it was the second trailer that got me. After about 3 shots of his glorious muscle upper body I was hooked, plus the flashes of Rose McGowan as some freaky evil…thing, provoked my interests .

First up I gotta say this movie was straight up barbaric, from the beginning scene of the baby being cut out of his mother on the battle field to the constant slaughtering of men throughout the movie – it never ended. But that’s what the whole movie was about, following a barbarian. So if your ’squeamish’ don’t see it.

It makes me laugh, TotalFilm said “If swords, sorcery, pecs and FX get your bloodlust pumping, there’s fleeting fun to be had.” lol Good on them for being honest. As you can see the majority of reviews are pretty bad & that’s understandable considering the movie was nothing amazing & certainly not worth the extra charge just for 3D.

But I just wanted to talk about the completely fuckable Jason Momoa who plays Conan & is honestly the HUNK of all hunks. Damn where did this gorgeous man come from? I thought I knew most of the studs in Hollywood & then this muscle beauty shows his face. His chest alone is something that probably makes every pussy wet, along with those massive arms and that handsome dark face with a perfect smile. OK, I better stop before I rip these jeans. In conclusion, he’s fucken SEXY. And there’s even a sex scene in the movie which – well it was with a woman so it was shit anyway but it’s when he’s alone sleeping naked that it gets hot. You totally get a shot of his delicious muscle ass cheeks & even get to see them tense up as he goes to stand. But yea, definitely add him to your list of hottest studs. I bet he’s a total pig in bed, YUM!

Jason Momoa

Was pretty cool to see Rose McGowan play a character like that, I’m not a huge fan of her but kinda always had a thing for her ever since Charmed {even if the show did go down-hill once she appeared}. I saw a short interview on TV with her talking about a scene she shot where she got pretty seriously injured. Now don’t quote me on this but I’m pretty sure it was a fighting scene & she ended up having to have surgery on her elbow. Poor girl – I’m not even sure it was during the filming of Conan but yea apparently she won’t be doing anymore hardcore physical roles like that anymore {not that her fighting scenes were that amazing….}.

Also watched that new movie about a new killer disease that threatens human life: Contagion. Yes I did kinda just wanna see it because it had Kate Winslet but shhhhh, it did remind me of that other movie The Invasion – about that alien life form/bacteria that came down when a space shuttle crash-landed and started to infect people’s brains & change everyone’s personalities. I like that movie a lot.

For what it was it was pretty brilliant. I absolutely love what Empire said about it, that’s it’s a movie “…which could well do for the sniffles what Jaws did for great whites.” I totally agree. You’ll walk out of the cinema thinking of all the places your hands have been and how clean things might actually be around you.

A lot of people think the ending {when you see where & how the unknown disease came to be} is ridiculous. It’s not, I remember reading something way back in high school in my Level 3 science class that there are animals {especially bats & rodents} out in the Amazon & other enormous jungles which bite other animals and feed on all other types of things which have never come into contact with humans. Their teeth are so vile & contain such strange & harmful bacteria that the human immune system would probably freak out if it ever came into contact with it.

Its sorta like getting bitten by a wild cat or dog, there’s a million infections you could catch – including rabies.

In addition, I dragged my sister to see The Inbetweeners movie. Yes its true I did actually want to see it. The Inbetweeners is originally a TV show based on 4 UK teens – who are basically in constant search for some lovin’ & getting smashed off their faces, ya know like every other straight male from the age of 13 and up…. It’s the whole UK accent and language that makes me laugh, shit the things they say. It’s weird that the place where the English language started has now been totally ripped apart by the younger generation.

Anyway, yet again, the show is something I watched during my late nights in uni – god I watched a fuck load of TV late at night during my uni years. There are a total of 3 Seasons, which I would LOVE to watch from start to finish but sadly only managed to catch the odd episode here & there.

At first I thought the show was stupid and so crude, it was for straight dudes so that’s only natural I guess but after a while it had me on the couch holding my sides in laughter. They’re weird, odd looking & have the worst luck – it makes for brilliant comedy. The show{& movie} make you realise just how many names straight guys have come up with for ‘vagina’ . Movie was pretty funny, just wish I had watched all 3 seasons beforehand – to really appreciate it that much more .

Enough with the ‘amateur’ films & all the newbie’s which seem to never reach ‘Classic’ status – Finally some news about a movie which completely changed the standard of film – TITANIC.

Yep that’s right everyone, that movie from 1997 which was #1 for over a decade {& in many respects STILL IS} is coming back to the  silver screen – digitally re-mastered & in 3D.

This is pretty enormous news for me. Titanic is my favourite movie of all time & has influenced so much in my life. I remember when my mum got me the VHS video of it for my 8^th birthday, I was so excited. The first thing I did was race over to the video player & stick it in and sat down & watched it for the next 3 hours with a friend that came over – ever since that first time I was totally captivated by it & for the next 5 years everything in my life was titanic, I got all the books, collected stickers, read it all online, spent hours collecting as many titanic pics online as I could. I was like a walking titanic encyclopaedia. I use to take days off school just so I could pretend to be sick and watch the movie all day. & even when I was really sick I’d still curl up on the couch and watch it.

That’s just the tip of the ice berg, there’s so much more I could mention about my crazy obsession with the movie, but that just gives you an idea . I never did get the chance to see it in the theaters, partly because at the time I wasn’t even fully aware of what the ‘cinema’ was or how movies worked or what was even the latest thing to see at the movies, my life then was just home & primary school.

I do remember however, walking into the movie theatres trying to find a movie to watch with mum & her bf at the time. My bro & sis were with me and as they stood looking at the screen checking to see what movie we could see to pass the time – I was busy studying this enormous card-board poster/cut-off of the ship as it sailed into the gorgeous sunset with the title TITANIC printed on the bottom. I had no idea that it was that movie that would help shape me to who I am today. in the end we left because my mum thought the 3 hour length feature would we far too long for us under 10 year olds.

So next year in April, apparently on the 6^th{but who knows what date here in NZ} that mammoth movie will be playing in 3D & 2D in movie cinemas across the globe. It’s hard to say how I actually feel right now, I always use to tell my friends {who are all older than me} I never got the chance to see the movie – & they all did & are totally surprised because of how such an avid fan I am. My cousin saw it about 6 times, my god she was lucky.

Weird thing is, it’ll be a 100 years since the original disaster took place, it’s like one big anniversary. A lot of people are all fucked off, eww 3D, leave it alone & can’t they stop recycling the same shit. All I have to say to those people is are you kidding me? Titanic is & probably will always be a timeless classic & is one of the most watched and influential movies of the 20^th century. Why not bring it back? and WHY NOT digitally enhance it to make it look incredible & add the 3D effect? Isn’t it worth it? I mean they’ve been doing it to all these other crappy little kiddie movies – it’s about fucking time they did it to one of the biggest blockbusters from the golden decade of films {the 90s if you didn’t know }.

But yea I’m SOOOOOO fucken pumped for it, who knows how many times I’ll go experience it. I just can’t believe I get a chance to see it at the movies. I missed out all those years ago & now James & the studios are letting us & anyone else go watch it. Yes, I won’t lie I don’t favour 3D movies, plus it hurts my eyes after a while, but fuck it I’ve watched that movie between 150-200 times or more in the last 14 years in 2D on the old TVs with the cured glass front to the latest plasma/LCD screens, I’m excited for the 3 dimensional experience.
